Itanagar, Nov 2 (UNI) The Arunachal Pradesh unit of the BJP has demanded the state government elaborate on the operational measures for dealing with the security issues in the state.
The party flayed the Dorjee Khandu government for not coming out in the open about the alleged nexus of Congress leaders with militants, disregarding the safety and security of the people.
The BJP also alleged that the state government was not at all concerned about the security situation of the state.
''The successive Congress governments in the state have only been playing power games and overlooking their primary responsibility and constitutional obligations. The government has no right to mortgage the people's life and property for its vote bank and power politics by shielding those having nexus with the ultras,'' BJP sources said.
''The earlier peaceful state is now fast becoming a safe haven for the underground activists, who have been playing a major role in the government's formation,'' the sources said, adding that the state government must work out a concrete plan to deal with such issues.
Calling upon the people to realise the gravity of the situation and use their conscience, the BJP said it was high time that the Congress leadership stopped making tall claims.
It also demanded a high-level enquiry into the state government's alleged nexus with the ultras.
''Nepotism and bribery have become the order of the day and the mandate of the people is being misused to amass personal wealth,'' the party said.
