Dehradun, Nov 2 (UNI) Uttarakhand unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party has refuted the allegation of the state Congress Committee that the development process in the state has come to standstill under its government.
BJP State Spokesperson Dr Devendra Bhasin in a statement today said, ''Instead, the development process under Chief Minister Maj Gen (Retd) Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri has speeded up. In fact there was no development in previous Congress government tenure except for corruption.'' Mr Bhasin attributed the State Congress' allegation the ''frustration '' after losing power in the state. He said it was only after the BJP took over that actual development took speed in the state.
Corruption was rampant during the Congress regime which had been brought to a total halt by Chief Minister Khanduri, he added.
BJP Spokesperson said its government had already set up a probe committee to look into the corruptions surfaced during the previous government and the Congress ought to wait patiently for the Commission's report.
