Patna, Nov 02(UNI) Bihar bandh sponsored by entire opposition parties against the assault on scribes by ruling JD(U) MLA Annant Singh began on a peaceful note here today.
Sources at the state headqurters said that no untoward incident has so far been reported from anywhere. Elaborate security arrangement had been made in view of the bandh call. Special deployment has been made at public places and additional attention had been given to safeguard the railways, sources added.
The administration had been asked to deal sternly with anti- social elements trying to disturb the peace during the bandh, sources informed.
The sources further said there was little impact of the bandh during morning hours in the state capital where all private schools had announced closure of their institution as a preventive measure.
