Anand to be felicitated by ACF for winning world title

Dubai, Nov 2: After being feted by fans in India and honoured by the President, it is the turn of Asian Chess Federation (ACF) to felicitate undisputed world champion Viswanathan Anand later this month.

Anand will be honoured for winning the world title at Al Ain city, a developing tourist destination, by ACF President Shaikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, ACF general secretary Hesham Al Taher told The Gulf News.

Shaikh Sultan had visited Chennai, Anand's home city, last month and attended the celebrations held by All-India Chess Federation to honour the champion.

Anand will be accompanied by his wife Aruna to Al Ain and will play informal games against many rated UAE players.
