Lucknow, Nov 2 (UNI) After the resounding success of their hit series 'Saans' and 'Palchin', veteran television actors Kanwaljit and Neena Gupta are back together in a film based comedy show 'Jigar Ma Bari Aag Hai.' ''It was a great experience working together in Saans and Palchin. Our jodi instantly became talk of the town. It would be a fun working together again,'' the actors said in unison during a chat with UNI.
They added our characters are clearly defined and we will definitely create magic and add freshness to the show, which is in a completely different format.
Their earlier serial 'Saans' on Star plus was a rip-roaring success. The serial, which dealt with relationships, weaknesses, strengths, happiness and sorrows of an ordinary woman, revolved around Priya (Neena Gupta), a woman in her mid-thirties trapped in a monotonous life around her children and household chores. Her world comes crashing down, when she discovers that her hubby (Kanwaljit) has another woman in his life.
''Jigar Ma Bari Aag Hai, slotted for Sundays at 2030 hrs on FILMY, revolves around six characters, who vow to make you roll with laughter by filmy antics and dialogues. It is packed with cliche, yet cult hindi film dialogues and scenarios, which make the show a rib-tickling and slapstick comedy,'' says Neena.
''Paired opposite me is Kanwaljit, whose character is called IAS.
The desire to be an IAS finally reduces to just his name being that since he could not make it as one and is currently a librarian,'' the actress, who is recently seen in 'Saat Phere' on Zee, said.
Kanwaljit said the story revolves around three boys Lallan, Raj and Arjun, who reside in Mumbai. Sunil Grover, a simpleton from Jaunpur, plays Lallan. His only dream is to become a hero in tinsel town. Arjun is protrayed by Kiku Sharda, the quicky hawaldar from the comedy show FIR and is obsessed about filmy music. He runs away from home to become the next R D Burman, but fails to crack even a single original tune.
Raj Rahul Malhotra is played by Krishna Sharma of 'Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki' fame. In the show, his name is only Raj, but since, SRK was always successful in wooing girls as Raj or Rahul, he calls himself Raj Rahul Malhotra,'' he adds.
Playing Raj and Arjun's love interest is Pushpa aka Push, played by Shweta Gulati of Remix fame. Though the boys are crazy over her, she has her eyes set on Lallan.
