Mumbai, Nov 2 (UNI) Aegis Logistics has entered into the AutoLPG business and is in the process of setting up a network of 300 AutoLPG stations in the coming 2-3 years across the country.

Aegis chairman Kapoor Chandaria, while speaking to reporters here today, said, ''The Company currently has 22 autogas stations operational -- ten each in Maharastra and Gujarat, and two in Karnataka. Apart from this, around 85-90 sites are under various stages of construction/approvals.'' Mr Chandaria said new outlets at Valsad, Bavla, Dharampur and Patan in Gujarat, Fatehnagar and Rajsamand in Rajasthan, and Shimoga and Mysore in Karnataka are expected to be commissioned shortly.

Autogas is superior quality LPG that can be used as an automotive fuel. Apart from being a much cleaner and greener fuel in comparison to petrol and diesel, it is more than 40 per cent cheaper as compared to petrol. Autogas also extends the engine life so that vehicle maintenance costs are at least 15 per cent less, Mr Chandaria said.
