Work on Eastern Peripheral Expressway begins by July 2008
New Delhi, Nov 1 (UNI) The National Highway Authority of India will take up the upgradation work of all the national highways in the National Capital Region (NCR) by this year end.
Besides, the construction work on Eastern Peripheral Expressway would start by July 2008 and be completed in 36 months, it was informed by the NHAI to the NCR Planning Board meeting, held recently.
It was also informed that NHAI had short-listed the bidders for the Badarpur-Faridabad Elevated Highway and soon the NHAI would submit a Modified State Support Agreement to the Government of National Capital territory of Delhi for signing.
The meeting which also reviewed the progress of Metro connectivity in NCR, was informed that the Metro would be extended to five of the six NCR towns--NOIDA, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon, Faridabad and Bahadurgarh.
DMRC informed that work on the NOIDA and Gurgaon metros had already begun and would be completed before Commonwealth Games in 2010.
