TN CM for cordial Centre-State relations
Salem, Tamil Nadu, Nov 1 (UNI) Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today emphasised on cordial Central-State relations to ensure benefits to the people.
Addressing a gathering on the occasion of the inaugural of the new Salem Railway Division, Mr Karunanidh said Former Chief Minister C Anna Durai had said there should never be a situation of confrontation between the Centre and the state.
Drawing an analogy to the new railway division, he said tracks run parallel to each other enabling the trains to operate smoothly.
Similarly, if the State and the Centre Governments work in harmony, many victories (such as the new Railway Division) could be achieved.
Referring to the DMK-led DPA in the state, the Chief Minister and DMK Chief said detractors were expecting the compartments to derail.
''If we remain united and continue in our journey, then Tamil Nadu can expect several such victories,'' he added.
