Kolkata, Nov 01 (UNI) Sonata, India's leading watch brand from Titan Industries Ltd, today announced plans to boost its business in the rural areas of Bengal, especially among the younger generation.

Unveiling its new "Yuva" collection, under the flagship of Sonata, Regional Manager of the brand Rohit Arora said, ''Through this new collection we are targeting the young generation with watches priced so low that everyone can afford them.'' When asked about their present status in the watch market, Mr Arora said, ''We are growing every month with an approximate rate of 15 per cent. Last year we almost met our target of Rs 50 lakh at Rs 42 lakh with Rs 11 lakh in the Eastern Zone.

''Titan's range of Fast Track watches has been targeted at the youth. However, they are a bit expensive. The Yuva collection is for those youngsters who need watches that can endure the wear and tear of regular use,'' he added.

Today they launched 50 new models of watches. ''We plan on introducing many more in the coming days,'' Mr Arora said.

Speaking on their market abroad, he said, '' We have good market in Nepal and Bhutan. We are trying to venture into Bangladesh as well.

''We are also planning on utilising our steel outlets Tata Shakti as retailers for our newer brands of watches.'' UNI
