Sejwal misses gold in 50 m breaststroke,claims his second silver

Macau, Nov 1 (UNI) India's Sandeep Sejwal missed the gold by a whisker and had to settle for his second silver medal of the games as he finished runners up in the 50 m breast stroke event of he Swimming competiton at the 2nd Indoor Asian Games here today.

Delhi based Sandeep who clocked 28.41 seconds lost the gold only by 0.06 of a second.which was claimed by Iran's Mohammad Ali Rezaei. Thailand's Vorrawuti Aumpiwan secured the third place wwith a timing 28.49 seconds. In the heats, Sejwal timed 28.82s seconds to finish second to Aumpiwan.

The 18-year-old Indian had earlier earned a silver the 100 m breaststroke.

Meanwhile, In 100m butterfly category, another Indian Rehan Jahangir Poncha qualified for the final but finished on a disappointing eighth position.

In women 50m backstroke final, Shikha Tandon too disappointed finishing on the seventh spot clocking 30.50 seconds. The Gold was won by Hong Kong's Sherry Tsai Hiu Wai with a new games record of 28.08 seconds.
