Road connectivity to 5658 villages

Bhopal, Nov 1: Nearly 5658 villages got direct connectivity with main roads with the construction of 3360 roads of 15,426 km under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana in Madhya Pradesh.

About Rs 3487 crore had been spent so far under the scheme, Rural Development Minister Rustam Singh said, adding Madhya Pradesh's status in implementation and quality control was adjudged second in the country.

The National Quality Monitor has found 80 percent work satisfactory, while the State Quality Monitor had categorised 98 works as excellent, 1675 as very good and 313 works normal, Mr Singh added.
