Jalandhar, Nov 1 (UNI) Indian Airlines will meet last year's runner-up Indian Oil Corporation in the final of the 24th Indian Oil Surjit Hockey Tournament at the Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium here today.
In the first semi-final former champions Indian Airlines defeated Bharat Petroleum by 3-0 while In the second semi-final Indian Oil, Mumbai defeated last year's champions Punjab&Sind Bank by 3-1.
The final will be played tomarrow at 1800 hrs and the match will be telecast live on DD Sports on national network.
Indian Oil's forwards Olympians Deepak Thakur and Prabhjot Singh showed a good game.
In the sixth minute Deepak Thakur scored the first goal with a reverse stick (1-0). The bankmen wasted three penalty corners in the first half.
Three minutes after resumption, Raghunath converted a penalty corner for Indian Oil (2-0).
In the 43rd minute Raghunath struck once again as he converted third penalty corner for Indian Oil (3-0).
In the dying minute of the game the bankmen reduced the margin through Vikramjit Singh who converted a panality corner (1-3).
