MP institutes Sardar Patel award

Bhopal, Nov 1: The Madhya Pradesh government will institute an annual award of Rs 1.51 lakh in memory of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel for agriculture or any allied sector, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said.

Mr Chouhan made the announcement here yesterday at a function organised by Madhya Pradesh Kurmi Kshatriya Samaj on Sardar Patel's 132nd birth anniversary.

He said functions would be organised at all government schools on Patel Jayanti, while necessary action would be taken to instal Patel's statuues in all districts.
