Mumbai, Nov 1 (UNI) Mahindra and Mahindra has partnered with Indo-Amercian Arts Council (IACC) to organise the five-day Mahindra Indo-American Arts Council Film Festival in New York from November 7.
Fifty films have been selected for the festival, including 12 world premiers, 11eleven US premiers and 15 New York premiers.
There will be an international premier of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's much-touted movie ''Saawariya'' in the festival.
Rituparno Ghosh's ''The Last Lear'', Pan Nalin's ''Valley of Flowers'' and Mira Nair's short film ''Aids Jaago'' are the prominent Bollywood movies which will be screened in the festival.
Pooja Kohli Taneja, Festival Director said, ''We will be presenting the sheer diversity of independent film in this year's festival and the movies which uncover the aesthetics experimentation and complex story telling that is at the heart of emerging independent filmmaking.'' UNI
