Guv says 'yes' to World Kannada Conference
Bangalore, Nov 1 (UNI) Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur today said the World Kannada Conference would be organised in Belgaum as scheduled, allaying fears over its 'cancellation' following imposition of President's Rule.
In an informal chat with reporters after hosting 'High Tea' at the banquet hall in Vidhana Soudha, Mr Thakur said he was not aware of the previous government's decision on holding the Conference.
He assured that ''any laudable decision of the previous government would be pursued vigorously''.
Mr Thakur greeted the people on 51st State Formation Day (Rajyothsava) and paid tributes to those who had contributed for building a modern and strong Karnataka.
