Itanagar, Nov 01: The Confederation of the Service Associations of Arunachal Pradesh (CoSAAP) has welcomed the state government's announcement to henceforth release DA/DR to both state and central cadre employees vide a single order.
CoSAAP president Mari Angu said here today, ''We are grateful to the state government for looking at things in the right perspective and honouring our requests, particularly its decision to remove the distinction between the state and central cadre employees.'' He said state Finance Minister Kalikho Pul's announcement reflected the government's equitable treatment of its employees.
''The release of pending DA/DR at six per cent from January one, 2007, to all the state government employees before Diwali and to pay bonus to the contingency and casual employees is an equally welcoming move,'' Mr Angu said in a statement.
''We realize the resource constraint of the state government, but the employees' constraints should be taken care of as well,'' he added.
Arunachal Pradesh Finance and Accounts Services Association president Tedi Techi, echoing Mr Angu's views, said the DA should have been released on time as ten months' delay had caused suffering following the price escalation of essential commodities.
''As the state government is yet to evolve its own financial rules and is following the Centre's rules, we would be grateful if the Centre's rules were followed without any discrimination,'' Mr Techi added.
Appreciating the state government's ''Diwali gift'', ACCI president Techi Lala said it deserved kudos from all sections.
B K Ghosh Dostidar, a senior citizen, described it as the right decision at the right time.
