Committee recommends 40 dependents of martyrs for Govt. jobs

Chandigarh, Nov 1 (UNI) A high powered committee of the Punjab Government today recommended 40 eligible dependents of martyrs for government jobs in the state.

The committee, constituted by the Punjab Government for rehabilitating the next of kin/dependents of martyrs of various operations, met under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Ramesh Inder Singh here today.

The committee recommended the names of 40 eligible dependents to various departments for providing them government jobs, a spokesman of the Directorate of Sainik Welfare said.

He said that in the post "Operation Vijay', the State Government had taken a major initiative to rehabilitate the next of kin/dependents of martyrs by providing government jobs to atleast one member of the family on the basis on his her qualification.

To screen all such cases, a high powered committee was constituted under the Chief Secretary, he added.
