Mumbai, Nov 1 (UNI) General Motors India today launched Chevrolet's ''Aveo 1.4 LS limited Edition'' as a part of the company's centenary year celebrations.
''The car is built according to strict GM and Chevrolet standards with an improved gear system and ground clearance for Indian roads,'' President and MD Karl Slym said at the launch.
Priced between Rs 6.36 to 6.49 (ex-showroom Delhi), only 250 of the Limited Edition Aveo 1.4 LS Chevys will be sold and the car comes packed with a number of new and improved features including enhanced throttle response, Italian leather upholstery, refurbished instrument panel, alloy wheels and remote keyless entry.
The Company's ''Cost-of-Ownership Promise'' scheme has also been extended to the range. under the scheme, if the total cost of maintenance exceeds Rs 15,999 within three years or 45,000 km, the customer will receive a refund of the difference amount.
The launch is a follow-up of the Company's runaway 10-day hit offer for its mini car-the Chevrolet ''Spark'' last month. During the offer period, a record 11,200 bookings were made for the Spark.
Introduced in 2003, General Motors India is a wholly owned subsidiary of the world's largest auto maker - General Motors Corporation (GMC) - which sold nearly 9.1 million vehicles in 2006 globally alone and owns iconic brands like Cadillac, Buick, Pontiac, HUMMER, Saab and Chevrolet.
GM India has a dealership network of 99 and 110 service centres.
The Company has a 85,000 unit capacity plant at Halol, Gujarat with another planned at Talegaon near Pune with a capacity of 140,000 units.
