Akola, Maharashtra, Nov 1 (UNI) Three farmers, two of them from neighbouring Buldhana district, have allegedly committed suicide over the past two days.
A 37-year-old farmer, Sanjay Ramdas Dhakre, from Sherwadi village in Akola district committed suicide by setting himself ablaze late last night, police said.
Police said he was indebted and was frustrated over repeated failure of his crop.
In neighbouring Buldhana, 55-year-old Parshuram Goba Chavan consumed poison and ended his life on October 30 for allegedly the same reason. He was a resident of Vardali village in the Sindkhedgaon Raja taluka.
In the third incident, 60-year-old Gopichandra Harishchandra Mehenge from Paturda village in Sangrampur taluka of Buldhana district hung himself to death on October 30.
