UPA govt has ensured good financial condition of states:Gehlot

Jaipur, Oct 31 (UNI) Congress General Secretary and former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot today said the efficient economic policies and ''unbiased political approach'' of the UPA government had resolved the financial crisis plaguing several state governments.

Mr Gehlot told reporters here that many states were facing a financial crunch during the previous NDA government's regime at the Centre but over a period of three years, the situation had improved drastically.

''The efficient and well-directed financial policies of the UPA Government and an impartial political approach for all states had helped the states emerge out of the crisis.'' Adequate allocations to the state projects, timely release of and prompt action on the states' demands had helped the governments improve their financial condition and speed up development, Mr Gehlot added.

He said the Rajasthan government had received satisfactory central assistance and the state's financial condition was good.

''Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje should pass on the benefits to the people of the state. The government should promptly hear the demands of the state government employees and announce a one-time package for them as per the commitment made by the ruling BJP in its manifesto,'' he said.
