Jammu, Oct 31 (UNI) The visitors Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) took first day lead today against host Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) as PCA's Anupreet Kour and Gurdeep Kour helped their side to pile up a stable total of 144 for the loss of one wicket at the close of first day's play of the North Zone Women Cricket Tournament, being played at Maulana Azad Stadium here.
A superb knock by Anupreet Kour of unbeaten 81 runs off 110 deliveries with nine hits to the fence and 48 runs from 76 balls (5x4) by Gurdeep Kour helped Punjab to take lead on the first day against JKCA.
Punjab's Richa Sehgal lost her wicket as Meenu Slathia struck for JKCA, while Anupreet Kour and Gurdeep Kour were at the crease today. Earlier, batting first for 215 minutes after wining the toss, the JKCA team crumbled at a meager total of 90 runs in 57 overs.
Meenu Slathia remained top scorer with 14 (33) runs while Satika Sharma 13 (64), Payal 13 (23) and skipper Roopali Slathia contributed 11 (36).
Right arm Punjab pacer, Ravneet Kour clinched three-wicket haul for just three runs as Anupreet Kour and Harpreet Kour claimed two each and Rajwinder Kour and Avneet Kour also pocketed one wicket each.
The host team earlier held Delhi to a draw in the two-day competition at Srinagar last week. The J&K team will take on Punjab in a one-dayer to be played here on November 2.
