Jammu, Oct 31 (UNI) CID sleuths busted a militant hideout and seized a cache of arms and explosives in Mandi tehsil of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir, official sources today said.
The sources said a CID team on a tip conducted a raid in mandi forests and recovered one AK 90, 5 kg RDX, one wireless set, a Pakistani-made revolver, 15 detonators, one IED circuit, one hand grenade, 20 cartridges and one AK magazine.
Meanwhile, three civilians managed to escape from the clutches of militants, who were kidnapped for acting as informants for the security forces. They were taken to Bhimdassa forests where they were beaten up, the sources said, adding that in the morning, all three hostages managed to dodge the militants and reached a nearby police picket from where they were taken to their houses.
The kidnapped civilians were identified as Mohd Aayub, Gulzar Ahmed and Bashir Ahmed, all residents of Dalwa, Gool, the sources told UNI.
The sources also added that the militants involved in the kidnappings had been identified as Manzoor Ahmed Alias Furqan, resident of Dalwa, Gool and Feroz Din Alias Nasarullah Qazi, resident of Salbala, Gool.
Meanwhile in another incident, Gul Mohd Shah (65), got received severe injuries when militants lobbed a grenade at his house at Gagarsullah in Gool last night. He was immediately hospitalised while the militants managed to escape, the sources said.
