Kolkata and adjoining areas receive heavy showers
Kolkata, Oct 31 (UNI) Heavy showers today lashed the city and its adjoining areas, heralding the onset of winter this year.
The Alipore Met office recorded 73.6 mm rainfall.
The rain brought down the temperature considerably. The Met office recorded the maximum temperature at 32.6 degrees Celsius, two degrees below normal, while the minimum was 25.2 degrees Celsius, three degrees below normal.
The maximum relative humidity was pegged at 98 per cent. Met sources forecast a generally cloudy sky with a few spells of thunder showers during the next 24 hours.
