HC grants bail to two musclemen of Haseena Parkar
Mumbai, Oct 31 (UNI) The Bombay High Court today granted bail to two alleged musclemen of Haseena Parkar, sister of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, involved in a case of alleged extortion from a real estate agent.
Justice V C Daga granted bail to Shamim Babu Qureshi and Maqsood Farook Qureshi on personal bonds of Rs 50,000. By way of conditions, the court directed them not to leave Mumbai without permission of the trial court and asked them to surrender their passports with the concerned police authorities.
The Anti-extortion cell of the Mumbai police arrested both the Qureshis for allegedly threatening real estate Vinod Avalani. In presence of Haseena, they had threatened him not to demand Rs 30 lakh out of Rs one crore, which was allegedly advanced by Avalani to Haseena towards partenership rights in two Slum Rehabilitation Authority projects (SRA) in the Metropolis.
