New Delhi, Oct 31 (UNI) Glowing tributes were paid to Acharya Narender Dev on the occasion of his 118th birth anniversary.
At a function organised by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, Delhi Mayor Arti Mehra garlanded the statue of Acharya Narendra Dev, the founder of Social Welfare Revolution in India, installed at Ring Road near ITO.
Senior officers of MCD were also present at the function.
Speaking on the occasion Ms Mehra described Acharya Narender Dev as a great son of Mother India who dedicated his whole life for the welfare of downtrodden sections of society. She described him as a great scholar, social reformer, orator, statesman and an outstanding patriot. His philosophy and ideals were worth emulating by citizens today also, she added.
