Eight hardcore militants nabbed in Manipur

Imphal, Oct 31 (UNI) Eight militants belonging to different outfits were nabbed by the Army, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police in separate incidents in Manipur during the last 48 hrs.

The PIB(Defence Wing) said troops of 57 Mountain Division located at Moirang Sub-Division of Bishnupur district apprehended one People's Liberation Army(PLA) and two People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) cadres during the last 48 hours.

The PRO of Assam Rifles said the troops of 18 Assam Rifles apprehended one Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup(KYKL) ultra and handed him over to the police yesterday.

Meanwhile, SP of Imphal East District L Kailun said a cadre of United National Liberation Front(UNLF) was also nabbed. Based on the information given by him one of his compatriots was nabbed yesterday, the SP added.

Mr Th Radheshyam, the SP of Thoubal district, said two PREPAK cadres were nabbed during the last 48 hours. They were identified as N Yaiskul Singh(49) and L Dilip(30).

''Yaiskul was working as collector of the outfit in Thoubal district,'' the SP said adding he was the headmaster in-charge of Nepra Company Jr High School, Thoubal.
