Villupuram, Oct 31 (UNI) A Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) activist suffered grievous cut injuries when he was attacked by a two-member gang in front of a court complex at Tindivanam in this district of Tamil Nadu today, police said.
Police sources added that the DMDK worker N Raja was proceeding to a Fast Track Court in the Judicial Magistrate Court complex in connection with an attempt to murder case, when the gang attacked him.
Raja was about to enter the court complex in his two-wheeler, when the gang waylaid and attacked him with lethal weapons and fled away.
Raja, who suffered several cut wounds all over his body was rushed to the Tindivanam Government Hospital. His condition was stated to be stable.
Police have launched a manhunt to nab the attackers.
