Patna, Oct 31 (UNI) German Consul General in Kolkata Guentar Wehrmann has urged the investors and the entire merchandising community of the state to project Bihar as a market destination for the promotion of Indo-German trade.
Addressing an industrial session here yesterday, Mr Wehrmann said eastern India, particularly Bihar, possess immense market potential keeping in view its historical importance in terms of tourist destinations, especially religious tourism.
Interacting with entrepreneurs at the Bihar Industries Association (BIA) office, he said, ''Since Bihar is a terrafic tourism destination, it must go the whole hog to market its tourism potential by first getting an entry into the ''Incredible India''.
Mr Wehrmann maintained the industrialists and traders here must explore the export market to Germany, especially in regard with the products like spices and farm produce, since German market offers great opportunity for such products.
German exports to India mainly include quality capital equipment and power plants which they would like to invest in Bihar provided there was better projection of the state for its trde campaign.
Suggesting how to make better economic relation between the two trade partners, Bihar and Germany, he said, the industrialists and traders must find out good investors in Germany to support the tie -ups.
In this regard, the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry and German representatives in New Delhi would be of great help indeed, he added.
A German cultural centre is likely to be opened very shortly here in Patna, this was announced later by Michael Flucht, regional language counsellor, Max Muller Bhawan, New Delhi, adding German language instructors would be sent to the centre to teach the lingua franca to the people here for better understanding of socio-economic condition in Germany.
