Andaman islander in CBFC's Advisory Panel

Port Blair, Oct 31 (UNI) An islander from the remote Andaman and Nicobar islands has been appointed as an Advisory Panel member of Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

''I am glad to have this opportunity,'' Mr Nand Kishore Singh told UNI here today.

Mr Singh, Secretary of Central Cooperative Stores (CCS), Andaman and Nicobar, had been appointed as the Advisory Panel member for a period of two years by the Information and Broadcast ministry.

Mr Singh was earlier associated with the Regional Office of CBFC in Kolkata.

''I have already worked upon many films, most of them Bengali.

This is a good experience and hope that some day films made in our island gets recognisation like the films in Mumbai and Kolkata,'' Mr Singh avered.

There is no film industry in this archipelago but in last few years a few Tamil and Hindi movie have been released from the islands without any CBFC certificate.
