AMU to reopen from November 6

New Delhi, Oct 31 (UNI) The Aligarh Muslim University, closed last month following student violence, will reopen in a phased manner from November 6.

The decision to resume classes was taken after a meeting of the Vice Chancellor with the Human Resource Development Minister Arjun Singh here on Monday.

In the first phase, teaching in J N Medical College, Sir Ziauddin Dental College, Z H College of Engineering&Technology, as well as Class XII and Nursery to class X will commence.

In the second phase, PG classes in the Faculties of Science, Life Sciences, Management, Agricultural Sciences, Interdisciplinary Biotechnology unit as well as class XI will resume from November 13.

Teaching for Post Graduate classes in the Faculties of Arts, Social Sciences, Commerce, Theology and Law will commence from November 19 in the third phase, while teaching of Undergraduate classes in the Faculties of Science, Life Sciences and all courses of the Faculty of Unani Medicine will begin on November 23 in the fourth phase.

In the last phase, Under Graduate courses of the Faculties of Arts, Social Sciences, Commerce, Theology, Law and all courses in the Boys and Girls Polytechnic will commence on November 27, an AMU release said.
