8 voter registration centres commissioned in Delhi

New Delhi, Oct 31 (UNI) Delhi Chief Electoral Officer Satbir Silas Bedi today said 70 Voter Registration and Electors' Photo Identity Cards Centres would be commissioned to provide round the year services to citizens of Delhi for election-related activities at one place.

Commissioning VRECs in eight Assembly constituencies of the national capital today, Dr Bedi said the total number of Assembly constituencies with this facility has gone up to 34 and work in remaining 36 constituencies is in progress.

The VRECs will help citizens in inclusion of names in the electoral roll, objection to or deletion of the existing entry, preparation of Electoral Photo Identity card etc.

All the centres are being equipped with all information and infrastructure required, including electoral rolls, forms, touch screens etc.
