New Delhi, Oct 30 (UNI) Temperamental fast bowler Shantakumaran Sreesanth has spurned a movie offer from a South Indian filmmaker as he wants to concentrate on cricket.
Aashiq Abu, a debutant director, had offered Sreesanth the role of a cricketer alongside Malayalam megastar Mamooty in an attempt to cash in on the flamboyant Indian pacer's massive popularity, particularly down South India.
''I am not doing it (the movie). I want to concentrate on cricket as of now. Some big tours are coming up,'' he said on the sidelines of felicitation of Twenty20 World Cup wiining cricket team and Asia Cup hockey winning team.
Abu had met Sreesanth after his return from the World Cup in South Africa and had read out the story of the movie to Sreesanth.
Sreesanth had earlier written lyrics of music album 'Jaago India' (Rise India) before the start of Twenty20 World Cup.
Sreesanth and other Indian team members were guarded in their response on cricket matters and refused to entertain any question on former skipper Rahul Dravid's omission from the ODI squad for the first two matches against Pakistan.
''I am looking forward to a tough series against Pakistan,'' was all what Sreesanth said when asked to comment on Pakistan's tour to India.
