Bangalore, Oct 30 (UNI) Rajya Sabha member from Karnataka Rajeev Chandrasekhar today urged the Indian Cricket Board to look into the dropping of former team India captain Rahul Dravid.
In a letter to BCCI President Sharad Pawar, he charged that a number of questions had arisen from this action of the Selection Committee, principally around the fact whether the decision to drop Dravid was driven by personal views.
''Dravid is a cricketer about whom everybody is proud of because of the values of professionalism, dedication and performance he exemplified both as an individual member of the team and as captain'', he said.
''If there is an attempt by anyone in the cricketing establishment to cause harm to him on grounds other than professional, then that's clearly unacceptable to the people of Karnataka and cricket fans all over India,'' he said.
The Chairman of Selection Committee Dilip Vengsarkar has termed dropping Dravid as giving 'rest.' Mr Chandrasekhar urged the BCCI President to look into the issue and establish correct facts and ensure that Dravid was treated with the respect he deserved.
