Jabalpur, Oct 30 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh High Court today issued notices to the State Public Services Commission and the state government on a petition challenging scanning formula used for results of Civil Services Examination held in 2003.

Hearing a petition filed by candidate Piyush Tiwari and others, a division bench comprising Chief Justice A K Patnaik and Justice Ajit Singh issued the notice and sought reply within four weeks.

Petitioner's counsel Hemant Srivastava told the court that as per the formula, higher marks obtained in Mathematics by a candidate were reduced, while less marks obtained in Arts subject by candidates was increased.

Hence, marks secured by a candidate with Mathematics subject failed in interview.

The court directed to conduct next hearing in the petition along with a similar pending petition of Mr Manoj Bhargava.
