Merkel, Sonia discuss bilateral issues

New Delhi, Oct 30 (UNI) Visiting German Chancellor Angela Merkel and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi today held discussions on issues of bilateral and global importance.

Ms Merkel visited Ms Gandhi's official 10, Janpath residence and was there for nearly 30 minutes.

During their discussion, issues of bilateral importance, including the growing trade between the two countries and increasing cooperation in many areas, figured prominently.

They also briefly touched issues concerning climate change, Congress sources said here tonight.
