Doda, Oct 30 (UNI) At least six residential houses and a mosque were destroyed in a fire that broke out last night at remote village in Dachan area of Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district, official sources today said.

According to reports, the fire broke out at Khai Pakhnoo in Dachan area and in no time engulfed six houses and a small masjid, sources told UNI.

''Being it a very remote village, lacking communication facilities, more information regarding the incident was yet not available,'' sources added.

A week ago, Margi village of the district was completely destroyed in the devastating fire. More than 160 houses in hamlet were gutted and over 100 people injured in the incident.

The bonfire used by villagers to fight winter is reasoned to be the cause of blaze.
