Manish Vardhan to lead Jharkhand Ranji team

Jamshedpur, Oct 30 (UNI) Opening batsman Manish Vardhan will lead the Jharkhand Ranji team for this season while two new faces have been included in the 15-member squad.

Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) sources said Ishank Jaggi of Jamshedpur and Kuldip Sharma of Ranchi would be playing for the first time in the state team.

Purnia born Manish was the unanimous choice in absence of all rounder Mihir Diwakar, who joined the rebel Indian Cricket League (ICL), the sources said.

The home team will play its first match against Madhya Pradesh from November third to sixth at the Keenan stadium here.

The team: Manish Vardhan (captain), ratan Kumar, arun Vidyarthi, Saurabh Tiwary, nAmir Hashami, Santosh Lal, Subroto Ghosh (Wicket keeper), Ishank Jaggi,, S S Rao, Kuldip Sharma, Raj Kumar, S Nadeem, Sunny Gupta, Shahid Khan and Rahul Kumar Gupta with Coach Rajender Singh Hans.
