Jeep-truck collision kills 5 in Rajasthan
Jaisalmer, Oct 30 (UNI) Five people, including two women, were killed and as many injured in a head-on collision between a jeep and a truck at Bhadasar village, 27 km from this district headquarters, in Rajasthan last evening.
Police said nine people, all residents of Jaisalmer's Khivsar village, were heading to Ramgarh in the jeep when it collided with the oncoming truck on the Ramgarh road. The jeep driver in his effort to save a motorcycle salmmed his vehicle into the limestone-laden truck.
Five of the occupants of the jeep died on the spot. Three of the deceased were identified as Mohan Giri (36), Gumanram (45) and Leelaram (55), while the identities of the remaining two were yet to be established.
The injured were admitted to the Jawahar Hospital of Jaisalmer, from where two of them were referred to Jodhpur due to their critical condition.
