New Delhi, Oct 30 (UNI) Country's leading IT services provider Infosys Technologies is expected to seal 15 deals, each worth 100 million dollars or more, over the next 10 months.
''We expect these deals to be finalised over the next 10 months and each each lies in the region of 10-15 million dollars,'' said company CEO and MD S Gopalakrishnan.
The Bangalore-based company may spend as much as 500 million dollars on acquisitions, Mr Gopalakrishnan was reported saying at the Fortune Global Forum earlier today.
The company is also open to the idea of acquisitions if the company fits the strategy of the company and is geographically well-placed with the company's expansion plans.
Infosys clarified that these acquistions would not be in India though. ''These deals will most probably be in the US or Europe,'' he said Infosys, unlike TCS and Wipro, hasnt been active in the acquisitions arena. In July earlier this year, the company had bought the finance and accounts BPO centres of Royal Philips Electronics NV for 28 million dollars in cash.
It had also won a 250 million dollar contract from Philips.
Infosys is also increasing its focus on Europe. ''The operations, started in 1998, last 3-4 years we have been very aggressive in the European market. Also it contributes about 27 per cent to our global revenues now compared to the initial contribution of nine per cent,'' said Mr Gopalakrishnan.
