HNLC ultra nabbed, two others surrendered
Shillong, Oct 30 (UNI) One Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) activist was arrested and two others surrendered at Dawki village, near Indo-Bangla border, yesterday.
Meghalaya police here today said Rimen Rymbai, a senior HNLC activist was arrested from the village.
Rymbai hails from Bangladesh's Sylhet district and had come to Dawki to extort money from a businessman, police informed.
Meanwhile, the two HNLC cadres have surrendered before East Khasi Hills police, said they had escaped from the HNLC hideouts in Bangladesh and decided to join the national mainstream.
The two, however, did not deposit any arms.
A case had been registered against the HNLC activist.
