New Delhi, Oct 30 (UNI) In a bid to check unethical competitive behaviour of the corporate sector, the Government today said Competition Commission of India will be operational within six months.

''Competition Act 2002 has been amended by the Competition (Amendment) Bill, 2007 in order to make Competition Competition of India fully operational within six months,'' Corporate Affairs Minister P C Gupta while addressing Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) foundation day celebrations here.

Mr Gupta said that the commission would ensure fair and ethical competition in the corporate sector.

He said the new Company Law would be introduced during the Winter session of Parliament later this year, the minister said.

''I trust a simple and business like version of company law will provide the required flexibility, much awaited dynamism and new life of self regulation to the corporate world,'' Mr Gupta said.

The minister also said that the Government is at the final stage of enacting a Limited Liability Partnership Law.

''The bill was likely to be moved in Parliament during the next session,'' Mr Gupta said.
