Ahmedabad, Oct 30 (UNI) City Crime Branch sleuths today rescued a 13-year-old girl, hailing from West Bengal, pushed into a prostitution racket, and arrested seven people in this regard.
Talking to reporters here, Assistant Police Commissioner (Crime Branch) Parikshita Rathod said the arrested accused have been identified as Naseer and his wife Beena, pimp couple Takhiben Rabari and Naran Rabari, Hitesh Marwadi, Satpal Maganlal Rajpurohit and Kamruddin Kanu Kasambhai Pathan.
Ms Rathod said the girl, hailing from a village in North 24- Pargana District of West Bengal, was brought to Gujarat by a couple, Gita and her husband Krishna, who kept the girl with one Takhiben Rabari who initiated her into the flesh trade. She sold the girl to a pimp couple, Naseer and his wife Beena, at Rs 30,000.
''Naseer raped the girl and forced her to sleep with clients. When the victim refused, she was tortured and sold to a pimp named Raju Langada at Rs 12,000, who kept her at a house at Tejal Park Society in Vadodara, where she was forced to sleep with clients for eight days for Rs 12,000,'' said Ms Rathod.
''The matter came to light when NGO Anhad approached us with the complaint. We swung into action, arrested the accused and rescued the girl,'' she added.
