Hyderabad, Oct 29 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Dr YS Rajsekhara Reddy today directed the official machinery to take up relief measures on a war footing in the flash flood-affected areas due to heavy rains.
Reviewing the situation Dr Reddy, who was camping in his home district Kadapa said two helicopters have already been deployed and a 45-member National Disaster Response Force requisitioned for relief and rescue operations in the affected areas.
Twenty four relief camps had already been set up. One bus was stranded in the overflowing vagu of Kadapa District.
While, constantly monitoring the situation and instructing the officials since early morning, the Chief Minister directed the Collectors of the affected districts not to attend the collectors meeting tomorrow,but stay back in their respective districts to monitor the situation and oversee the relief and rehabilitation works.
Dr Reddy also instructed the administration to take measures for supply of drinking water both in urban and rural areas.
