Two hardcore criminals killed in encounter

Hisar, Oct 29 (UNI) Two hardcore criminals were killed in an enounter with the police at Khandakheri village in the district last night, police said today.

Superintendent of Police Srikant Jadhav said Nanu Sardar alias Gurudev and Karambir were killed in the encounter while their accomplice Pradeep alias Kala escaped under the cover of darkeness.

He said these criminals were wanted in several cases of murder, dacoity and ransom and had created a terror in Hansi and Narnaund areas.

Three hand grenades and two pistols were recovered from them, he said.

The SP said the police got a tip off that the three criminals had come to Khandakheri to kill one Devendra, a convict who had come out of jail on parole. When told to surrender they fired shots at the police party. In the ensuing encounter, the duo were killed while Kala escaped.
