Barrackpore, Oct 29 (UNI) Three constables of the BSF's 102 Batallion, who were reportedly suffering from high fever, vomiting and severe pain, died here during the past 48 hours.
Police said today that the bodies were sent for post-mortem to the Basrihat sub-divisional hospital at North 24 Parganas yesterday.
Unnatural death cases were registered at the Basirhat police station for the death of Sherwan Singh, Sharma Singh and Rameshwar Singh, posted at two different border outposts of Kanaikati and Gumti under Hingalgunj police station near the international border with Bangladesh, police said.
However, the cause of death of the victims was not confirmed by any of the hospital auhtorities.
The jawans were reportedly suffering from high fever, vomiting and severe pain, police added.
While Sherwan Singh and Rameshwar Singh were taken to the Taki Hospital on October 28 and declared brought dead, Sharma Singh died on the way to the Basirhat hospital yesterday.
Rameshwar Singh, a cook at the BSF camp, was from Punjab while Sherwan Singh was from Rajasthan and Sharma Singh from Kashmir.
The bodies will be sent to their respective homes, BSF sources said.
