Rupee ends with slight gain at 39.42/43 per USD

Mumbai, Oct 29 (UNI) The Rupee today ended with a slight gain of two paise against the US Currency at 39.42/43 per dollar as compared to the previous close of 39.45/46.

The Indian unit today made a marginally firm start at 39.38/40 and later traded in a narrow range of 39.38 and 39.42 per dollar, before closing almost flat due to narrow movements in the inter bank foreign exchange (Forex) market, dealers said.

The six-month forward premium closed lower at 1.09 (1.21) per cent, while annualised premium ended at 1.10 (1.11) per cent.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) today fixed the reference rate at Rs 39.38 per US Dollar. The reference rate was up by 13 Paise as compared to previous rate of Rs 39.51 per USD.

The Rupee ended firm against other major world currencies today.

The Rupee against Euro ended weaker at 56.49/50 (56.74) per unit.

Against Pound Sterling, it closed low at 80.82/83 (80.93) per unit, while against Japanese Yen, the rupee ended at 34.20/22 (34.56) per hundred units.
