PS expresses concern over poor performance of NREGA

Dumka, Oct 29 (UNI) Expressing concern over poor performance of National Rural Employment Gurantee Act(NREGA) in Godda district of Santhal Pargana, commissionary principle secretary of state's Rural Development Department A K Singh directed the deputy commissionary of the district to expedite the scheme.

During the review meeting organised here today, Mr SIngh said the performance of Godda was poor at the national level, whereas progress of NREGA in Dumka and East Singhbhum districts were satisfactory.

Mr Singh said forest department would allot work of about Rs three crore to every block level under the scheme.

Similar target for other departments, including agriculture and minor irrigation had been set, Mr Singh said during the meeeting.

The deputy commissioners of all the six districts of Santhal Pargana were present at the review meeting.
