Praveen undergoes bowling practice after sustaining minor injury

By Staff

Meerut, Oct 29 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh all-rounder Praveen Kumar, who was the lone new face in the India ODI squad for the first two ODIs against Pakistan, today sustained a minor injury in a road accident while coming back home here.

The incident occurred on the Delhi-Meerut Highway when he fell over the glass panes of his open jeep after the driver kicked the brakes to avoid hitting a vehicle in front near New Mandi inside the city.

According to police, Praveen sustained minor injuries on his legs and was rushed to a nearby nursing home from where he was discharged after giving first aid.

Doctors declared him fit to play as the injury was superficial, police said.

Praveen later went to nearby Kailash Prakash Stadium and did some bowling practice without any problem.

He was returning home for the first time after being included in the Indian team and fans had erected welcome gates for his reception all over the city.
