Poet, actor Shail Chaturvedi passes away

Lucknow, Oct 29 (UNI) Noted poet, author and actor Shail Chaturvedi passed away in Mumbai late last night.

He was 71.

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati this evening expressed profound grief on the demise of the septuagenarian poet.

In a message, the Chief Minister noted ''He was a great poet, who made major contibutions to Hindi through his writings. His demise is no less than a setback in the field of acting too.'' Ms Mayawati extended heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family.
