Chandigarh, Oct 29 (UNI) Fourth seed Khurram Faizan and Rasheed Zian Abdul, both from Pakistan lost their first-round matches in the Asian Ranking Tennis Tournament at the CLTA Sports Complex here today.
Chakma Manab Kumar of India defeated fourth seed Khurram Faizan in straight sets 6-4, 6-2 in the first-round singles match. Rasheed Zian Abdul was defeated by Passi Vishal 3-6, 2-6.
Three trainees of CLTA Rural Academy -- Ajay Yadav, Anupam Chhetri and Ranjeet Singh -- moved into second round with facile wins.
Ajay Yadav outclassed Rajanvir Dharni by dropping 6-1, 6-1. Lucky loser Anupam Chhetri ended the challenge of seventh seed Lakhotia Raghav 6-2, 6-4.
Lucky loser Ranjeet Singh defeated Vikrant Adamya 6-3, 6-0.
Qualifier Suraj Beniwal overcame a tough challenge from Pankaj Kumar 7-5, 7-6 (3).
